Film & TV

We visualize your story at every stage of its creation.

From storyboards to post-production, we collaborate with you to explore your narrative, design shots and plan technical solutions.

Pitchvis

Before your project is even greenlit, you can test your concept with a custom-made previs trailer.

Our “pitchvis” trailers have been used to help greenlight Godzilla (2014), Men in Black 3, Jack the Giant Slayer, Oz: The Great and Powerful and others.

Storyboards & Animatics

To kick off the visualization process, our storyboard artists sketch story beats for each scene.

The editorial department cuts these shots into animatics for review.

Asset & World Building

Next we build the world your story lives in.

In Maya’s 3D virtual space, we generate each scene’s environment and elements.

Previs

With the assets in place, our artists animate the story and shots. The 3D visualization allows you to explore every action and angle. Previs is your sandbox and stress-test before you shoot.

Previs

Techvis

Once previs captures your vision, we run a technical analysis to see how the story can be physically shot.

Our workflow stores all technical information (lens type, camera distance, size of a greenscreen, speed of a vehicle) and produces blueprints for physical production.

Virtual Production

Our iterative, nonlinear virtual production workflow merges virtual environments and characters with your physical production.

We use imagery and 3D spatial data generated during previs to provide services such as virtual location scouting and on-set visualization.

Virtual Asset Department

We generate full scale 3D environments of sets or locations for scouting and production planning.

We can work with you to ensure smooth transition of assets from Art Department, Previs through to final VFX.

Motion Capture

We capture original live performances for CG characters.

The Third Floor uses Xsens MVN suits or partners with motion capture studios. Stunt men, actors and even artists can jump into the suit for quick motion recording.
.

Virtual Camera

Explore and shoot the virtual scene using traditional filmmaking techniques.

We have our own light weight camera system and MotionBuilder tools to quickly iterate takes.

Motion Control

We can program motion control to replicate previs and virtual camera moves on set.

Simulcam / On-set Visualization

We superimpose virtual imagery over live-action photography.

CG can meet the real world seamlessly.

Postvis

After production, we combine the previs elements with the live action photography to quickly preview the film before implementing final VFX.

Postvis provides a post-production blueprint for your VFX team and a comprehensive look at the film for test screenings.
