Set Tour App Out now!

All set with AR! On both real-world projects and in R&D, THE THIRD FLOOR continues to develop and introduce new ways to visualize shots, scenes and sets with Augmented Reality.  THE THIRD FLOOR has now also collaborated with American Cinematographer, the journal of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC), to create an app that allows anyone to explore aspects of moviemaking through AR.  

The new app, titled Set Tour, lets users interactively view production sets while teams from the project describe their work.  The premiere edition, available now for Apple iOS devices, highlights the show-stopping “Be Our Guest” scene from Disney’s live-action feature film, Beauty and the Beast.  Toggle between commentary from cinematographer Tobias Schliessler, ASC, theatrical lighting designers Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, and THE THIRD FLOOR’s Virtual Production Supervisor, Casey Schatz, while viewing and positioning a 3D model of the set built by THE THIRD FLOOR to support technical planning and shooting for the scene.

Addison Bath, Global Head of R&D at THE THIRD FLOOR, led work on the app, which was built end to end at THE THIRD FLOOR, including content visualization, design, app development and programming.
